LIFESTYLE EVENTS IN VERBIER THIS SUMMER 2023

 

With a wealth of festivals, exhibitions and more on offer, summer in Verbier proves to be a cultural and artistic treat! We compiled a hit list of all the main events to make sure you don’t miss out.

 

Turner Exhibition @ Pierre Gianadda Foundation, Martigny

3rd March - 25th June | 10h00 - 18h00 daily

An incredible opportunity to see a stunning display from the world renowned J.M.W Turner, curated by David Blayney Brown. On loan from the Tate in London, the exhibition - “Turner: The Sun is God” - offers a unique look at a wonderful display of the master’s work in oils, watercolour and gouache. It demonstrates how watercolour in particular played a key role in his way of capturing the intensity of the forces of nature with unparalleled expressiveness. Not one to miss!

60e Fête cantonale des guides du Valais

17th June | 10h00

Espace Saint Marc, Le Chable

The 60th Valais Cantonal Mountain Guides' Festival is about sharing the passion for the mountains and celebrating the wonderful profession of mountain guide. Saturday 17 June will be a fun-filled day with plenty of activities for young and old: a zip line, a climbing wall, a face-painting workshop and animal walks will all be on the programme. There will also be an aerial rescue demonstration. The film "In the footsteps of Lucy Walker" will be screened in the presence of its protagonists. In addition, a bouldering competition with qualifications and finals will take place throughout the day. A dance with a DJ will bring the day to a close.

St-Jean Rock Festival

23rd - 25th June | 10h00

Levron

The 5th edition of the St-Jean Rock Festival will take place under the same concept as in 2022. The bands will alternate on the main stage in the paying section of the festival. The DJ will liven up the stage changes and the end of the evening in the "village" section.

Craft Market

24th June | 11:00 - 19:00

Levron Village

The craft market will host around thirty local craftspeople and producers. They will be delighted to present their products: food, soaps, nature, jewellery, sculpture and engraving, textiles, art cards and paintings, ceramics and pottery, cosmetics, associations and foundations. The stalls will be set out in the streets in the heart of the village.

Throughout the day, there will be entertainment for young and old alike, including horse-drawn carriage rides, bouncy castles, chainsaw sculpture, a smoothie bar, storytelling and parent/child treatments, and tattoos. And don't forget that the village part of the festival will also be open from 11am, with restaurants and bars.

Distillery Festival in Sarreyer

24th - 25th June | 14:00 - 18:00

Sarreyer

The association des Paysans and Artisans of Sarreyere celebrate solstice at the Distillery.

Saturday: 2:00 pm Absinthe distillation workshop and tour of the distillery with Matthieu Frécon. No registration necessary, until the evening!

Sunday: 10h00 Market / tasting 11h00 : Arnica homeopathy workshop for young and old with Matthieu Frécon 11:30am: Musical jam session (musicians with instruments welcome) 14:00: Local herbal vinegar workshop by Aurélie Ecoffey for young and old.

Raphaël Thoos and his gourmet creations, and Isabelle Gabioud and her plants. Catering on site Saturday and Sunday.

 

Watercolour Hike

30th June

Lac Servay

The Terre Colorée workshop organises a watercolour hike to discover the magnificent Val de Bagnes region in an artistic and more contemplative way. The course will take place at Goli de Servay lake, situated around the Cabane Brunet.

The walk lasts around 3 hours maximum there and back, with an uphill climb of about 300m.

No requirements. This is an ideal activity to share as a family.

Price: CHF130 adults & CHF80 Children.

Verbier Festival - 30th Edition

Panora ‘ Malt

29th-30th July | 10h00-18h00

An open-air beer festival in a spectacular setting in la Chaux. Come and taste the many regional craft beers in these unforgettable surroundings. Festival-goers will receive a glass (included in the price) on arrival and can taste different beers at their leisure. Live music at the end of each day and plenty of activities for kids. Rocklette - Palp Festival

5th - 14th August | Weekdays

The unique landscapes of Val de Bagnes will play host to some of the finest rock bands alive. Dotted around various locations, the concerts will only be accessible by foot or with free public transportation (either a shuttle bus or cable cars will be organized). Fête des familles

6th August | 09h00 - 18h00

This traditional mid-summer event for families offers a wide range of activities that will delight both young and old alike. The day kicks off at 11am, when Mass will be celebrated against the backdrop of the Combins massif. An all day event with bouncy castles, a climbing wall, face painting and slack lining. Electroclette

19th - 20th August

Electronic music meets raclette on top of the Alps! The day-long event features a dancefloor with views of the Grand Combin massif, dozens of different cheeses, hundreds of litres of local wine and soaring grooves! Bagnes: Capitol de la Raclette

23rd - 24th September

For the 19th year, Val de Bagnes is once again celebrating its iconic dish: RACLETTE.  ‘Bagnes Capitale de la Raclette’ is an unmissable event for all those who love this cheese speciality. Over a weekend, visitors can discover the local produce for which the region is famed, in particular raclettes prepared with high-quality cheese from the surrounding alpine pastures.
